A Xmas Cuento Remix

Anita Chapa has lost her job on Christmas Eve and with her family about to lose their house she must seek out help from her estranged Tia Dolores. Dolores Avara, with the help of some opinionated carolers must learn to forgive her sister, set her pride aside and remember the importance of family and traditions. This tale touches on class, the displacement of low income families and good old fashioned Christmas tamales.

Blast Off

Inspired by the first Latina astronaut, Dr. Ellen Ochoa, the young and imaginative Valentina dreams of following in her hero's footsteps. While Valentina’s classmates cast her off, because she’s a girl who enjoys ballet and her family doesn't enthusiastically support her, she finds confidence and inspiration in her new (imaginary) best friend, astronaut Ellen Ochoa. Valentina and Ellen navigate the world of big dreams, doubt, and education. They find out how the sciences and the arts work together and to never let fear get in the way of learning!

A Christmas Treat

On Christmas Eve newly single Blanca finds herself pet sitting a friend’s Pug, Mateo. Through a Christmas miracle Blanca gains the ability to understand the doggos and joins Mateo on his quest to find his love, a pit Bull named Oso on a walk and wish him a merry Barkmas.

With the support of an Aztec eagle, Dolores Huerta travels back in time to tell her story. The young mother and Chicana activist finds her life forever changed when she meets Cesar Chavez, together, they work tirelessly to establish a Farm Workers Union. Dolores combats sexism, racism and classism as she fights to improve the lives of those around her. The Aztec eagle guides Dolores through her highs, lows and lessons learned along the way. This super Acto mixes humor and music from the movimiento to highlight the amazing journey of a woman who continues to make history today.
